Villa Pomme d'Or

This is a gorgeous villa with a pool and a very good overnight stop. The staff are delightful and the restaurant cozy and warm. We were given a suite but the sitting room part of it was unheated so we couldn’t really use it. Our bedroom was lovely and heated. The restaurant served good food and they tried to accommodate us being vegetarian.

This very pleasant guest house is more like a European villa than the more traditional Moroccan Riad. It has a large, airy, interior surrounded by very pleasant en suite rooms. Outside is a very welcoming and well kept pool. We ate in and had a very good meal served by a polite and informative waiter. This is a very pleasant place to stay if you are heading for the desert.

As we were stopping over on our way to Merzouga, our expectations were relatively simple. The service was excellent, from arrival and dinner to a washed car in the morning. The dinner was delicious, rich, not to say too much for two grown men. We had a similar experience at breakfast, which was also very tasty. Despite the shortness of our stay, a short walk through the village was fascinating and brought us a little closer to the life of the people here. Thank you so much for this unique accommodation!

We had high expectations with this place being so well rated and even star listed in lonely planet but our family were at a loss to see what people were so impressed by. Our welcome was warm but not exceptional. The room was very dated, our 10 year old brought the bags to the room with my husband while my daughter and I finished our tea. Our 10 year old said to our 7 year old, you won’t like it. I asked why and he just said you will see.. He was right, it was dark, no window in the main room with heavy interior curtains and other fabrics. It was a step back in time and the walls were cracked and had flaking paint. Just not anything we would get excited about. The upside was it was clean and very spacious. The location in the town is quiet but walkable to the central area. Parking outside monitored on cctv. The pool looks good but unfortunately we didn’t have time to try it or breakfast. Our car was washed for us in the morning but having just picked up the rental the day before it was clean already. It’s a nice touch but for us we felt we had to tip for something we didn’t need. This place is perfectly fine for a stop over but certainly not the highlight of our trip!

The villa is in a quiet little street.It looks from the outside like a Tuscany villa with the nice gardens and the swimming pool area and inside it is decorated like a palace from the tales of Arabian nights.the rooms are big and comfortable and we had dinner which was delicious.The hosts are very friendly

We enjoyed our night here. The hotel is "quaint" (as another traveler said) but everything worked fine for us. One great area is the dining room which is beautifully decorated with tapestries and rugs. They lit a fire since it almost snowed. They did cook for us and the food was very good. Very cozy.
